Our site

The aim of this project is to create a good site with easy navigation of software for Linux and Linux Distributions. Perhaps the biggest problem of users converting to Linux is to find replacements for their favourite Windows applications. We want to ease that problem by offering a comprehensive list of Linux software and Windows applications replacements.
We do not want to compete with www.distrowatch.com - we want to focus mainly on software, not distributions.
While the idea of a Linux software directory is not new, we feel we can do a better job than current efforts - for example at download.com the Linux section does not exist any more, the tucows.com Linux section does not have many items, freshmeat has plenty, but it is hard for common users to find the right one or discover exactly which can replace their favourite Windows app.
In Czech Republic, there was discussion at root.cz /Iinfo/, in AbcLinuxu s.r.o, but so far, nothing have been realized. We are here to change that!
